Map Conversion FAQ
Why is coordinate conversion necessary?
Mainland China uses an offset coordinate system (GCJ-02) for security. If you plot raw GPS (WGS-84) data on an Amap-based map directly, you'll see a shift of hundreds of meters.
What's the difference between WGS-84, GCJ-02, and BD-09?
WGS-84 is the global standard; GCJ-02 (Mars) is the Chinese domestic standard; BD-09 is Baidu's specific encryption. They cannot be mixed.
